The Gentleman

This idea came to me when we went to Spain.

Of course my oh so keen thinking went to fantasy and thought it would be perfect opportunity for me to process the past year and grieve, realign and clear any residue.

A new born & 3 year old for 3 1/2 weeks???

On the plane ride it sunk in there were a lot of hours ahead.

I stayed at my parents.

Ivy would play us off each other bu the 2nd week she was a pro. Enough time to put and plan.

A leak in boundaries and she would feast and become ....................a typical toddler.

Typical Toddler does not mean that I accept the unacceptable.

I was suffering in how could reach out to Ivy and introduce her to look at her own actions , rather than me drumming it in to her and hating the sound of my mummy voice.

My mummy voice is strong.

I think I actually incorporated a growl. Infact there is no 'think'  I know I  have.

We were given 2  zinc figures at our local antique shop.

Ivy is my muse.  Ideas are like  tetras & hops scotch . I rearrange and we become rhythmic and it seeps in and fits into place.

The chat on what they were became complicated and we said they were men. Ivy then called them 'The Gentleman'.

I then asked her If she was a little lady.

Ironically Ivy had displayed all kind of habits that I wanted to iron out and I used the expression not very lady like....... a fair few times.

So when Ivy was lippy, the chat about 'strangers', eating manners, talking... oh my what else.

Everything really had to be seen to.

I got the gentleman involved.

It eased the pressure of Mama Moaning and allowed her to address it herself.

She is 3 1/2 and sounds mad. But she is more than capable and its helped me sound less picky.

...............she knows.

I  must remember not to go on.

The basics are there.

The rest is discovery.

Do You Say Thank You

Christmas holidays my mama would always give the dust bin either some lolly or a box of biscuits.

I suppose this has stuck.

I am so grateful for their work. Can you imagine if they went on strike.

I am not saying to give money but a smile and thank you goes a long way. Especially when most faces are in their screens.

I saw these guys and they were having such fun clearing the leaves. The sun shining.

Last thing-

It always surprises me how dog owners lets their dogs piddle on bin bags. Someone has to pick them up... with gloves or or not its so disrespectful.

So food for thought- what do you do??
